Jakarta — PT Dana Syariah Indonesia (Danasyariah) reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs by actively participating in the National Adoption of the Women Entrepreneurs (WE) Finance Code event, held at the Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta, on Tuesday, July 22.
Danasyariah was among the financial institutions that signed the letter of support for the WE Finance Code, a global initiative aimed at expanding access to finance for women-owned businesses. The company’s involvement reflects its dedication to building an inclusive and gender-responsive Islamic financial system.
This event marked the continuation of the WE Finance Code’s launch, which was first introduced at the 2023 IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings in Marrakesh, followed by an initial round of signings by financial institutions in December 2024. With support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Indonesia became the second country to pilot the implementation of this initiative.
In addition to Danasyariah, other financial institutions participating in the second round of signings included Maybank Indonesia, Permodalan Nasional Madani, Qazwa, BPRS Attaqwa, and BMT Beringharjo. The initiative also gained support from various ministries, government agencies, and national associations such as the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), KNEKS, AFTECH, AFPI, ASBISINDO, and others.
The event also featured the introduction of the National WE Finance Code Team and the launch of the National Charter of the WE Finance Code Indonesia as a guiding framework for its national implementation.
With Danasyariah joining the WE Finance Code, it is hoped that more women entrepreneurs will gain access to Sharia-compliant financing, while also contributing to the development of a more inclusive and equitable national economic ecosystem.
